Shoot 1 - Test - Pattard hill and Pattard wood
This was my first shooting using my Bronica. Up to this point i had been more focused on open landscapes and spaces, with the thought of my final book in mind i wanted to experiment with homing in on certain aspects of the landscapes to break up the big open scenes as if presented in a book and create some more images that have a bit more detail and depth to them. This areas named 'Pattard hill' that leads into pattered wood is the most direct route from my house down into the village, on a general basis i would travel this road more than once a day, the hair pin bend and narrow one track lanes are notorious for crashes/near misses and plenty of road rage, like the most of hartland the council seem to have forgotten the local roads which are full of potholes, the uneven road surface and lack of care adds to the backwards/oldie worldie atmosphere and charm of Hartland and surrounding areas. broken down wells left to rot, sheds left wind damages and sludge and muck building up at the sides of the road blocking drains causing slippy roads.
In turn, the more open spaced images that i created last semester were preferred to these images by my tutors and peers. within coming shoots i need to widen my view and return back to broad open landscapes, for which i have lots of places in mind! and perhaps re visit this area with that in mind.
