Artist's Statement
Annie’s most recent works document a combination of man-made and naturally altered landscapes. These reflect her personal views surrounding environmental change and the decline of local agriculture and the effect this has upon the land. She captures the familiar sights of her home in Hartland, rural North Devon, allowing her work to remain personal with a sense of deep attachment, locality and understanding of the history that contextualises the land depicted.
She illustrates the everyday and mundane scenes that go unnoticed, framing ordinary and average English landscapes with consideration of composition leading towards a more fine art approach to her landscape photography.
